Now, here is something new that will easily capture the attention of your children, and their friends.

So what is the object of Creationary?

The main object of the Creationary game is to build, or create, something while everyone else tries to guess what it is.
When it is your turn you  roll the dice.  Each side of the dice in Creationary is represented by a category that you can build from.
There are 4 different categories that your dice side could land on: buildings, nature, vehicles, or things.

Whichever side the dice rolls on is the symbol of the category that you have to build from.
For example, if your dice rolls and the symbol of a house is on top then you have to build something from the house category.
The set also comes with a deck of cards that gives you your level of difficulty.

There are 3 subcategories for cards.  One stack is easy, one is medium and one is difficult.
The face of each card has subcategories on them.  Each of the three categories of easy, medium and hard are represented by an item.  Once you roll the dice you get to pick which stack of cards you want to build from.

If you decide that you want to build something simple then you will pick the top card from the easy stack and look for the house symbol.  Whatever the picture is in this category is what you have to build.

The rules of the game are pretty simple and is very easy for kids to understand.
There is no limit to the amount of talking that can go on and the person building is not restricted to a specific amount of time.
They can take as long as they need to construct their item, as long as it is a reasonable amount of time.

LEGO suggests that the right amount of time for a regular game is about 30 to 60 minutes. You may want to sit with your kids the first time around so that you will understand how they are playing while you may be in another room.

Creationary is wonderful for developing imagination and creativity skills.  Plus, it forces you to work under some pressure, which is definitely something that some people do better than others.

The game is designed for 3 to 8 players, ages 7 and up, but given the complexity of some of the cards in the difficult stack it could easily be played by adults, as well.
The way to win is to  build it before the identity is guessed so creativity is essential and adds to the fun

Besides the 96 cards and I LEGO die, there is 1 LEGO minifigure and 1 LEGO microfigure.  There are a total of 341 pieces to construct with and a rules book.
Creationary is a fun, challenging game that tests your skills as well as your patience.
Try playing Creationary and see how constructive you and your kids can be. You just might be surprised how imaginative your children can be, as they might know more than you think they do –and that’s makes for a great family game.
